Gordie the Photographer

Gordie the Photographer

This doll is made to order and may take 1 -2 weeks before shipping.

Gordie focuses her lens on a brown and white dog five stories below as it is led across the street by a boy. She is perched on the balcony of her family’s apartment building. She loves spending her days snapping pictures of the sights of the city, in fact she was destined to do so.

You see Gordie’s parents named her in honor of Gordon Parks, the first African American photographer hired at Life and Vogue. He focused on photographing subjects that portray the struggles and triumphs of race relations, civil rights, poverty and urban life.

She is inspired everyday to follow in his footsteps and capture life as she knows it.

Her features include:

  • Removable felt camera with strap.
  • 100% virgin wool stuffing.
  • High-quality linen and cotton fabrics for her body and clothing.
  • Hand embroidered face.
  • Hair made from a merino wool blend felt.
  • Measures approximately 17 1/2 inches.

This doll is ideal for gentle play by ages 4 - 104.
